In a newly created role we are looking for an EMEA Payroll Specialist to work alongside the EMEA Senior Payroll Manager in a multi-cultural shared services environment, who is open to change and able to embrace the challenges that arise in a fast-moving environment.
We have an exciting opportunity within our regional EMEA payroll team covering a number of payrolls in EMEA
This role is key to ensuring our payrolls are submitted, reviewed, paid in a timely manner and are recorded and reconciled accurately. The Payroll specialist will manage the end-to-end payroll activities and provide efficient and accurate accounting support within the finance department. It involves a high level of organization due to the various elements involved and will give someone the opportunity to challenge themselves and be responsible for entire end to end payroll processes across the EMEA region, including developing a very good understanding payroll financial accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
The EMEA Payroll Specialist will work in the Finance department and collaborate with HR and will have all employees as their internal customers. The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
- End to end processing of payrolls for a variety of countries within EMEA - each with their own complexities - working with ADP as the payroll provider
- Ensure payrolls are processed accurately, timely and in accordance with local country requirements.
- Complete all month end payroll activities – preparing journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure that monthly, quarterly and yearly local tax payments and compliance requirements are met.
- Maintain sufficient controls in place and implemented to capture changes month on month and ensure that any differences are reconciled and explained.
- Create and maintain control documentation, process flows and procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
- Liaise between the human resources and finance department to maintain accurate employee payroll information.
- Ensure a consistent focus and involvement in driving efficiencies and process improvements
- Being able to complete banking requirements for salary and tax payments and month-end reconciliations would be an advantage.
- Work with other members of the Payroll team to ensure salary and tax payments are made on time.
- Administrative tasks – e.g., Payslips, year-end tax certificates and close monitoring of payroll mailboxes and action of items requiring attention.
- Current Entities – UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Hungary, Israel, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, South Africa, Dubai, Saudi, Poland, Greece, Belgium. Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, Czech Rep, Slovakia, Italy. Spain, Portugal.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 5-6 years’ payroll working experience, ideally in a similar role with EMEA exposure
- Effective communication in English
- Knowledge and application of payroll principles, concepts and industry practices and standards in Hungary and other main EMEA countries.
- Understanding of and following procedures and HR practices
- Must be able to work to strict deadlines
- To be able to understand the importance of escalating issues that sit beyond the scope of the role
